Bruce Smith

Vote 1 Bruce Smith For Division 6 ~ Redland City Council 2012

About Bruce Smith

Bruce has been a resident of the Redland since 1974, attending Cleveland State High, completing his senior year in 1977.

He went on to study Mechanical Engineering at QIT, graduating in 1983. Sadly, QUT, in the heart of Brisbane is still one of the closest tertiary institutes for our Redland youth. More about that later.

After a short career designing food processing machines, an opportunity arose to establish a family business in Capalaba. This opened in rented premises in 1984, and is still operating on Redland Bay Rd today.

In 2000 Bruce expanded into Special Events, supplying marquees and equipment into many major events and festivals in South East Queensland. Some including Indy, Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, Multicultural Festival, Woodford, Brisbane Festival and River fire.

Closer to home, Bruce also became involved with many local groups, not only supplying equipment, he would often generously offer his time and operational expertise to ensure our community groups every chance of success. Bruce’s continued support of groups such as, Rotary, Lions, Probus, Cancer Council and RedFest, allows these community groups to plan their events without the burden of costly infrastructure and the security of a professionally, well equipped project.

In short, Bruce has been in direct contact with many levels of community and corporate life. He knows this city, he has many social and business skills to offer. He has a vision, and knows how to deliver your vision to this wonderful city of ours.
